Trust Your Employees

Trust Your Employees - Workplace Culture Consulting

When leaders say that trust is earned they’re really announcing that they believe their staff is trying to hurt, betray, or make them look bad. This worldview usually stems from childhood trauma and manifests itself in a lack of trust in others and a need to control them.

A far more effective way of thinking and behaving is to trust your employees from the start and give them the ability to do their thing. Then, all you have to do is be a resource when they need training or have questions.

One of the best approaches to build a nurturing, supportive workplace culture is to make sure your issues aren’t stifling you and others. Let go of the mistaken notion that you can’t trust people and work instead on giving your staff opportunities to shine.

The reason I know trust is something that should be given freely is that, throughout the course of my consulting career, I’ve noticed that leaders who trust their employees create workplaces that are healthier and function much better.

Let’s work together to foster a supportive and nurturing workplace culture in your organization.
