The Best Leaders Are Good People

There are many leaders who are unethical, punitive, lack empathy, and then complain about their staff being unmotivated and unproductive. Sadly, this type of leadership often seems to be the norm rather than the exception because we’ve bought into the myth that people are just there to complete tasks and make us money.
A far better leadership approach is to just be a good person, which means doing things like creating a supportive and nurturing workplace culture, being empathetic and kind, treating people well, and helping staff grow.
Good people create workplace cultures where employees feel valued and important and get more done because they know that someone truly cares about them. If you’ve ever worked for someone that is a genuinely good person, you know how comforting and motivating it can be.
The reason I know good people make better leaders is because, throughout the course of my consulting career, I’ve noticed that bad leaders do nothing but destroy while good ones build healthy, productive organizations that value people.
Let’s work together to foster a supportive and nurturing workplace culture in your organization.
