Lead Better by Delegating

A lot of leaders justify their own existence by hovering over their employees and never allowing them do things on their own. It’s as if they believe that no one else can perform tasks correctly unless they are being supervised every step of the way.
A much better approach that builds supportive and nurturing workplaces is to let your employees do their thing. People are wonderfully capable of making their own decisions and taking action when leaders let them. The only thing you have to do is make it clear that you’re there for your staff if they need help.
Empathetic leaders understand that nobody wants some control-craving supervisor peering over their shoulder. That’s why they just get out of the way and let their employees function independently.
The reason I know delegating works is that, throughout my consulting career, I’ve noticed that leaders who allow their employees to be autonomous build much healthier and productive organizations.
Let’s work together to foster a supportive and nurturing workplace culture in your organization.
