The Strongest Leaders Are Empathetic

Conventional, outdated thinking has told us that leaders need to be swashbuckling spotlight seekers who only care about themselves when, in reality, strong leaders are empathetic.
An excellent way to build a supportive and nurturing workplace culture is to put yourself in your staff’s shoes and understand what they truly need. Have conversations with them and listen actively to what they say, then take action to make their needs a reality.
When you run your company or organization based on empathy for others, you broadcast that you are a strong leader because you’re willing to let others shine.
Over the course of my consulting career, I’ve noticed that the strongest leaders are empathetic because it takes more fortitude and effort to be vulnerable and put yourself in others’ shoes than to simply bark orders and be harsh.
Let’s work together to foster a supportive and nurturing workplace culture in your organization.
